Grab Hire Explained
There is every chance that you have seen a grab lorry before, and our fleet is at the centre of our grab hire operations. We dispatch grab lorries with 8 wheels and huge 16-tonne weight capacities. Each lorry has a hydraulically operated reach arm and a grab bucket fitted. The jaws of the bucket grab stockpiled waste at distances of up to 6 metres then the arm retracts to bring material closer to the bed so the operator can load it onto the grab lorry.
Even if you have positioned waste in a hard-to-reach area, or behind fencing or hoardings, grab lorries will still show excellent manoeuvrability.
With a grab hire service, you won’t lose time waiting for skip deliveries or use up precious man hours by leaving your own staff to fill the units. It isn’t at all unusual for customers to underestimate their bulk load volumes and if you go for a skip hire service, this could lead to more excruciating waiting times.
Grab hire allows your own operations to move forward without delays.
As part of the package, we send out a grab lorry and operator at a specified time and on a specified date. Each grab lorry is fitted with cameras and SAT-NAV equipment so we can always take the fastest route to site and load your waste onto the truck bed while protecting the safety of your contractors.
We bring waste back to dedicated waste transfer stations in Mitcham and in Wimbledon where over 90% of material undergoes recycling.
